Carnival Cruise passengers having meltdown over ice cream policy

Loyal Carnival Cruise Line customers are having a meltdown online about the company’s ice cream policy.
The cruise line is one of the few that offer a self-serve ice cream buffet station, which seemingly many customers are not satisfied with based on the comment section of Brand Ambassador John Heald’s Facebook page.
Thousands of users complained after he clarified the company’s stance on the issue, and some passengers are not keen about the cruise line’s alcohol policy.
A former cruise singer went viral on TikTok after revealing the morbid reason ship crews throw impromptu ice cream parties is often to make more room in the freezer for dead bodies. No cruise line responded to requests for follow-up comment.
His post garnered mixed responses from fellow customers about the policy.
“I have sailed a main competitor & yes they have staff doing it for you BUT, their hours are shorter and you don’t get it exactly like you want it,” one wrote.
“Nothing wrong with doing it yourself. I will say, I was impressed on the Carnival Splendor cruising out of Sydney. The ice cream stations were never messy or busy,” another added.
“This also gives us entertainment as well. We like to sit and watch people make ice cream cones. We even have a grading system,” joked a third.
A fourth penned: “I prefer to build my own but seems to be a favorite of those who’ve been causing mayhem on the ships lately…The worst is opening the nozzle and letting the ice cream run all over the floor for sport.
“If the crew do it, I am not getting germs from all of the people who have touched it before me. And I can not wash my hands while holding a cone. It is a measure to keep gastrointestinal bugs from spreading.”
